We’re honored to collaborate with Cassina to reinterpret a true design classic — the Utrecht armchair, originally created by Gerrit T. Rietveld in 1935 and exclusively produced by Cassina since 1988. This special edition marks a fusion of Cassina’s design legacy with TEAM WANG design’s creative language.

Guided by the traditional Chinese philosophy of Yin and Yang, we brought our vision to life through a bold black-to-white gradient. The result is a striking balance of opposites, shadow and light, strength and softness, all coexisting in one continuous form. Each side tells a different story, yet they connect seamlessly in harmony.

The armchair retains its signature orthogonal structure, where seat, back, and armrests intersect, now elevated through a symbolic, cross-cultural lens. Every detail is intentional, from the directional flow of color to the contrast in texture and energy.

At TEAM WANG design, we focus on innovation, pushing boundaries, and writing our own story. This collaboration with Cassina takes that vision further, offering us a new platform to express our design philosophy and bring our core values to life through meaningful creation.
